6) When will the next solar eclipse?


August 12, 2026. It will be visible as a partial eclipse in northern North America, much of Europe, and western Africa. It will begin at 5:34 p.m. (official time on the Peninsula) in the Bering Sea and end at 9:58 p.m. in the Atlantic Ocean. The total duration of the phenomenon will be 264 minutes (just under 4 and a half hours).

The path of totality will cross the Arctic Ocean, northeastern Greenland, and the western tip of Iceland, then cross the Atlantic Ocean and enter the Iberian Peninsula, crossing it from west to east and passing through numerous provincial capitals from A Coruña to Palma, including León, Bilbao, Zaragoza, and Valencia.

The peak of the eclipse will occur at 7:46 p.m. (official time on the Peninsula) near Iceland, with a maximum duration of totality of 2 minutes and 18 seconds.
