Research
Research is the fundamental work on which the Science Museum is based. Everything we display in our showcases has gone through an exhaustive research process that we want to share with you.
The origins of the Science Museum date back to the 1970s with the start-up of the Zoology Department. At that time, the existing biological material from research carried out since the 1960s was organised (doctoral theses, field work and internships). From then on, the collections were enriched by the research carried out by the departments and, at the beginning of the 1980s, the Zoology Museum and the PAMP herbarium were set up to house the University's Zoology and Botany collections.
Over the years, the collections have been completed with various private donations as well as with research carried out by both the Department of Environmental Biology of the Faculty of Sciences and the Institute for Research in Biodiversity and Environment of the University of Navarra.
