History
The Science Museum opened its doors to the public in 1998 to exhibit the Lecároz Collection, donated to the University in 1995 by the Capuchin Fathers after the closure of their school Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo.
SEVEN THOUSAND PIECES
There are 7,000 exhibits (animals, plants, rocks, minerals and antique scientific instruments) that are used for teaching at the Faculty of Science and are visited by nearly seven thousand schoolchildren every year.
60 YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
For decades, the research carried out at the Faculty of Sciences has been generating collections that enrich our museum heritage.
MUSEUM VALUE
With all this, because of its great museum and didactic value, and because of the volume and quality of the pieces it houses, this Science Museum can be compared with other consolidated museums in the international university field.
