Activities for all audiences in the Science Week of the University of Navarra
The academic center has organized lectures and workshops for schools, an exhibition on insects, conferences with experts on biodiversity, and a dinner with science.

The University of Navarra joins one more year the celebration of the Science and Technology Week with science outreach activities for all audiences.
The Faculty of Sciences of the academic institution has organized, from November 11 to 15, a program of activities for schools (from 4th of ESO to 2nd of high school) in the Science Building of the University of Navarra.
Students will be able to take part in workshops on biology, physics, chemistry, microbiology and geology every day from 10:30 to 12:00. In addition, starting at 12:00, they will be able to enjoy some sessions on various scientific topics: on Monday 11 the Cima researcher Ana Patiño will give the lecture "You really are what genetics wants you to be!"; on Tuesday 12th Professor Jordi Puig will talk about "The human being in nature"; on Wednesday 13th it will be the turn of Professor Enrique Baquero who will give the session "The hidden world of insects"; on Thursday 14th Professors Iker Zuriguel and IñakiEcheverría will talk about "Artificial intelligence in science"; and on Friday 15th Professor Elena Puerta closes the cycle with the lecture "Drugs: would you let your brain deteriorate before its time?".
The School of Science has also prepared on Saturday, November 16, within the framework of the Open Day of the University of Navarra, laboratory practices for students of 1st and 2nd year of high school as well as sessions for accompanying persons on the academic offerings in the area of Science, housing and scholarships.
For its part, the Science Museum of the University of Navarra has also organized around these dates a series of conferences aimed at exploring the relationship between science and biodiversity. On the 12th, the documentary"The Caretakers" will be screened (an award-winning production in the 2023 edition of the #LabMeCrazy! science film festival) with a subsequent discussion with professor and researcher Enrique Baquero. On Thursday 14, Lorena Escuer, specialist in biological control and the promotion of urban biodiversity, will give the session"The role of Functional Biodiversity in the urban environment". And on Friday 15 Manuel Quirós will give the session "Biomimicry: regenerative disruptive innovation inspired by Nature". The sessions will be held at 19:30 at Civivox Iturrama (C/Esquíroz, 24).
The Science Museum has also organized on Thursday 14 at the restaurant El Colegio a "dinner with science" in which the cuisine of Álex Mújica will be combined with the science of the museum: the biology of txangurro, science in a wine tasting, reversible reactions: why is mayonnaise cut, time or temperature: you have to choose, what is oxidized, the calories in your dessert, why radioactive gin and tonic shines, and much more.
And until November 28th you can visit the exhibition "Insects. Todo lo que cuentan", an in-house production of the Science Museum of the University of Navarra. Admission is free and the general visiting hours are Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00.
The Faculty of Science and the Science Museum of the University of Navarra organize every year science outreach activities for all audiences around the Science and Technology Week. In this edition, the Fundación Caja Navarra, Seguros de salud Acunsa-Clínica Universidad de Navarra, the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) / Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, Civivox-Ayuntamiento de Pamplona, Campus Home and the group Women for Science and Technology of the University of Navarra have collaborated.
