SCIENCE AND EVOLUTION

9- 24 November 2023

How much do we know about evolution? What if dinosaurs had not become extinct? Can we recreate extinct species?

The Science Museum of the University of Navarra presents the series "Science and Evolution" with the aim of addressing these and other questions from the point of view of current science.

The evolution that could have been: of extinctions and dinosaurs

What might have happened if the dinosaurs had not become extinct? Suggestive debate between contingency and convergence in evolutionary history; that is, what might have happened if certain events had never happened.

 5887 K SUNSET - DANCE DYNAMO

Turkana Films. Spain. 2019. 57'. Documentary

In various cultures of antiquity, every sunset humans said goodbye to the sun believing that it died, giving way to the darkness of the night and the hope that it would be reborn with the dawn.

Years of evolution lead us to understand the movement of the stars, knowing that with each twilight the sun disappears from the horizon because the Earth rotates and will rise again when it has finished its rotation. A knowledge that broadens our poetic vision of the world around us as an inspiration for artistic expression.

Atardecer 5778k is a scenic proposal of dance with a look of scientific dissemination to discover this phenomenon as extraordinary as everyday.
- Creation: Joaquín Sevilla and Carmen Larraz.
- Scientific divulgation: Joaquín Sevilla.
- Choreographic creation and interpretation: Carmen Larraz.
- Music: Hilario Rodeiro and Rival Consoles.
- Installation: Lolo and Lorenzo Avolio.

This proposal was premiered in the Con los Pies en las nubes 2023 performing arts program with the help of Innova Cultural Research and DNA Dance Festival 2023.
