Talk "The evolution that could have been: of extinctions and dinosaurs".
Talk "The evolution that could have been: of extinctions and dinosaurs".
The exhibition "Dinosaurs among us"organizes a talk with Javier Novo, Professor of Genetics at the University of Navarra.
This talk-colloquium will present the old debate between contingency and convergence in evolutionary history; that is, what might have happened if certain events had never happened. From Stephen J. Gould's proposal, with the Cambrian explosion, to the abundant evidence of convergent evolutionary trajectories, I will try to illustrate this debate by discussing what might have happened if dinosaurs had not become extinct.
