Observation

In this activity, students will have the opportunity to observe different insects closely with the help of digital magnifying glasses. They will be helped to notice their main characteristics that allow us on the one hand to identify them as insects and on the other hand to differentiate them from each other.

Ranking

Students will learn to find out the habitat of different insects by looking at the adaptations of their bodies.

Perception (vision)

In this activity, students will learn how light influences what we see. In particular, they will see the effect of light on the iridescent wings of the blue Morpho butterfly. Finally, they will see how insects see (approximately).

Perception (hearing)

Students will conduct small experiments with sound that will help them understand how it works and how it is possible for insects to detect even more sounds than humans, without having ears like us.
