The Times Higher Education Impact Ranking has ranked the University of Navarra among the top 50 in the world for its contribution to the care of terrestrial life. The ranking, which is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has assessed that the University of Navarra obtains the 48th position in the world in SDG 15: Life of terrestrial ecosystems. It also ranked 48th in SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 75th in SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, 94th in SDG 2: Fighting Hunger, and 99th in SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
Regarding SDG 15: Earth Life, this year the ranking has positively considered the educational activities carried out around the protection of the environment, which at the University of Navarra are materialized in the Science Museum. In addition, Times Higher Education has evaluated the research carried out in this area, as well as the direct contribution to the care of the environment through advice to public institutions, among others.
The University of Navarra, which has set as its goal in its Strategy 2025 to contribute to sustainable development and care for people and the environment, is ranked 201-300 in the world in terms of its overall contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, it has managed to rank 101-200 in its contribution to SDG 1: Fight against poverty, SDG 3: Health, SDG 14: Aquatic life and SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions.
The ranking, in which more than 1,100 universities from around the world participated in this edition, studies both the research conducted, the university's internal policies and the external contribution to local communities in each of the SDGs.
