The University of Navarra celebrated "La fiesta de los investigadores", a day to experience science in a close and participatory way. Students, researchers and the general public gathered to enjoy scientific monologues and innovative posters that addressed issues of social and scientific impact.

More than 80 people attended this event, where they learned about advances in cancer treatments, new approaches to couples therapy, the ethics of artificial intelligence, the psychology of forgiveness and nutrition applied to diseases.

The conference was organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the University of Navarra, in collaboration with the Science Museum, and sponsored by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

Monologues that inspire: science in three minutes

One of the highlights was the "My research in 3'" format, in which researchers and students presented their projects in just three minutes. Topics such as CAR-T immunotherapies against cancer, responsible artificial intelligence and new drugs for Chagas disease were some of the topics that captivated the audience with their clarity and creativity.

The winning monologue in the student category was "Unmasking cancer to boost CAR-T immunotherapies", presented by Rodrigo Redondo, a doctoral student at the Cima University of Navarra. In the researcher category, Carmen Callizo, from the Instituto Cultura y Sociedad, won with "Los caminos del perdón hacia el bienestar", a reflection on the impact of forgiveness on mental health.

Science in pictures: posters with impact

In the poster format, advances such as lung cancer metastasis, artificial intelligence ethics, and the antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles were presented. The award went to Elena Perugini, a medical student, for her paper "CoQ10 and DRP1: The antioxidant alliance", which explores the potential of certain antioxidants in the prevention of visual diseases related to aging and diabetes.

The event brought together representatives from various faculties and institutes of the academic center, highlighting the transversal nature of science. "La fiesta de los investigadores" continues the mission of the UCC+I of the University of Navarra to connect science with society, promoting the dissemination and visibility of university research.
