About the Training

A distinctive feature of science instruction in elementary school is its hands-on nature, but how do we choose which activities to do, and how do we know if they have been effective?

The TAPS approach promotes a science assessment system for elementary school that aims to be valid, reliable, and manageable, with the goal of supporting student learning.

The TAPS Pyramid brings together the principles of this approach and can be used as a tool for science coordinators to evaluate and develop their school's assessment processes.

These sessions will explore examples of practical activities and scientific inquiry, taking into account their different objectives, the inquiry cycle, learning progression, teaching tailored to students’ needs, and the use of assessment for formative purposes.
