The University of Navarra has obtained the Human Resources Strategy for Research (HRS4R) quality seal, awarded by the European Commission. This distinction recognizes institutions that generate a stimulating and favorable environment for research work, ensuring that researcher recruitment processes are open, transparent and merit-based, in accordance with the principles set out in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct. Currently, 554 organizations in Europe have received this seal. In Spain, 125 institutions have obtained it, of which 35 are universities.

"It is a recognition that positions us at European level, in terms of quality criteria, while increasing the visibility of the University at international level, and helps us to attract and retain talent. It is also key for a university like ours, which is very active in research programs, as it reinforces the commitment we have made to the internationalization of research and innovation," said the Vice-Rector for Research, Iciar Astiasarán.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized that research and knowledge transfer are at the core of a university institution. The European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, together with the 40 principles that are defined, are tools for their achievement. "This seal values its monitoring and highlights the work carried out at the University in this regard, as an institution that does its job well and enhances the careers of our researchers. It is also committed to ensuring that the development of research is governed by ethical principles at all stages," he added.

The University of Navarra currently employs 1,197 researchers, distributed among 112 groups in different fields: Biomedicine and Health; Humanities and Social Sciences; Architecture, Technical Sciences and Design; and Experimental Sciences, Environment and Sustainability.
