The Science Museum of the University of Navarra has carried out over the past year a hundred scientific events for all audiences. One of the star initiatives has been "Science in the street", where the scientific institution, together with the Chair of Scientific Culture of the UPV, has deployed infographics -in Spanish and Basque- in the bus shelters and mupis of Pamplona, to talk about the science behind everyday aspects such as, for example, a beer, a loaf of bread, a cell phone, a car, a yogurt or a hotplate.video

Along the same lines of bringing science closer to the public, the Museum also held sessions with scientists and researchers at the Zentral Café Teatro in Pamplona. And on the occasion of World Environment Day, it held activities and workshops in the center of the city in which hundreds of families participated.

One of the most popular activities this year has been "Science on Wheels", which consists of bringing science to the classrooms of schools. Specifically, 89 science outreach sessions have been given throughout Spain, reaching 2,670 schoolchildren. In addition, in Navarra, the Museum has promoted "The Secret of Manya" - a chemistry outreach project that alternates interactive activities, with augmented reality and experimentation - and 40 sessions have been given with a reach of 1,000 students. Scientific sessions were also held at the El Molino Special Education School in Pamplona and, as every summer, urban camps on chemistry and nature were held, bringing together 300 children from kindergarten and primary school.

On the other hand, the Science Museum has celebrated the III edition of #LabMeCrazy! Science Film Festival - in which 1,371 productions from 104 countries participated - and where young people were able to enjoy high quality scientific documentaries and participate in various activities, such as urban safaris, fish census, colloquiums and a forum with popularizers. This year's "Passion for Science" award went to Spanish scientists Luis Enjuanes, Mariano Esteban and Vicente Larraga for their scientific careers and their work in the fight against COVID-19. During this course, the finalist documentaries were also screened in 4 locations in Navarra (Falces, Mendavia, Tafalla and Ribaforada).

The Science Museum celebrated Science and Technology Week in which hundreds of schoolchildren and families participated in its activities. It also joined the International Day of Women and Girls in Science to highlight the role of women in scientific activity. It organized an exhibition on the biographies of 18 outstanding women scientists, and a discussion with women scientists from different fields. The Museum joined in the commemoration of World Environment Day, Earth Day, Oceans Day and the fight against Climate Change, events that promote the protection of the natural environment.

The Studias congress on invasive species - in which 160 students from schools and institutes from all over Spain participated, a series of conferences on the Climate Summit (with more than 1,000 attendees), and citizen science activities of the Fauna and Flora Biomarathon are other initiatives in which the Museum has been present.

The Museum has also contributed to the training of scientists in the field of science communication by organizing the LabMeCrazy Social Media Forum and a workshop on podcasting.

And on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the birth of Santiago Ramón y Cajal, the Science Museum organized a series of informative lectures on his figure and the current challenges of brain research, which was attended by more than 600 people.

For the development of its informative activity, the Science Museum has established collaborations with different public and private institutions such as the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) / Ministry of Science and Innovation, Government of Navarra, Pamplona and Valle de Egüés City Council, Laboral Kutxa, Banco Sabadell Foundation and Unsain Grupo.
