Seven locations will host a film tour to bring science closer to young people. Under the name #LabMeCrazy! Science Film Festival, this is an initiative of the Science Museum that gives continuity to the international scientific film festival that this institution organizes every year and that has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) / Ministry of Science and Innovation, Laboral Kutxa, Government of Navarra and Pamplona City Council. This activity is sponsored by the Regional Executive, through the Department of University, Innovation and Digital Transformation, and in collaboration with the Network of Public Libraries of Navarra.

"The international festival #LabMeCrazy awards the best documentaries and audiovisuals of scientific cinema and , among its objectives, is to transmit our passion for science to the public. This initiative aims to bring science closer to the whole of the Comunidad Foral, taking the most spectacular documentaries to each town," says Ignacio López-Goñi, director of the Science Museum of the University of Navarra.

In this line, the Minister of University, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Juan Cruz Cigudosa, stressed the need to "build bridges" between science and citizenship, especially among the young public. In this sense, he stressed the importance of transforming specialized knowledge into accessible knowledge. "That is why we value positively initiatives like this one that, through different projections, aim to bridge the distance that sometimes exists between young people and scientific knowledge, which can contribute to the increase of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) vocations", he pointed out.

The program will start in Viana on May 19, moving on to Estella-Lizarra (June 14), Falces (September 21), Mendavia (October 5), Tafalla (November 2), Ribaforada (December 14) and San Adrián (January 18).

With the aim of promoting scientific dissemination, the topics addressed in the different documentaries are collaborative science, ecology, human beings and nature, women and science, or gene editing. According to the director of the festival and professor at the School of Communication of the University of Navarra, Bienvenido León, "the films that make up this tour are the finalists of #LabMeCrazy. They are very special works, which have won numerous awards at festivals around the world. They tell stories that show that science can be exciting. I think they are going to surprise a lot of people."

The cycle is open to all audiences, with free admission until full capacity is reached, subject to prior registration at the entrance. The screenings will begin at 5.30 p.m. and will be followed by a discussion with a specialist from the University of Navarra.
