The Science Museum of the University of Navarra, in collaboration with the Institute of Biodiversity and Environment of the University, Banco Sabadell Foundation, and Pamplona City Council, has organized activities for all audiences to celebrate World Environment Day (June 5).

On Friday, June 4 at 19:00 hours, Luis Lassaletta, Ramón y Cajal researcher at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, will give a lecture on "The nitrogen decade, beyond climate change". Lassaletta has a PhD in Biological Sciences and studies the alteration of nutrient cycles (N and P) and the relationships between agricultural practices, productivity, human diet, pollution and environmental policy. The conference will be held in person at the Palacio del Condestable in Pamplona and can be followed live on the Science Museum's website. YouTube channel of the Science Museum.

This session opens a new cycle organized by the Science Museum "For a sustainable future" that will be extended during the next academic year, thanks to the collaboration of the Banco Sabadell Foundation.

In addition, on Saturday, June 5, the Museum goes out into the street with activities for all audiences. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., some pieces from the Science Museum will be exhibited on Avenida de Carlos III (intersection with Avenida Roncesvalles). During these hours, workshops have also been organized for children between 6 and 12 years old: paint and color; making animals with recycled materials; a vegetable garden in your hands; observation of animals with digital magnifying glasses; visual escape room; and physics and chemistry experiments. Alphabet, from the BMW group, joins this activity with the loan of an electric vehicle, so that volunteers and researchers from the Science Museum can carry out scientific outreach activities in Navarra.

Finally, the Science Museum will launch on June 5 -for twenty-four hours- various environmental messages on its account at Twitterunder the hashtag #TODOEMPIEZAPORTI, and with the participation of scientists and researchers from the Institute of Biodiversity and Environment of the University of Navarra. This Twitter campaign aims to appeal to the importance of individual responsibility in the care and protection of our planet.
