Embark on a creative adventure with the workshop "Imaginary Gardens" in the Science Museum of the University of Navarra. This unique experience invites you to explore the cross between art and nature through the creation of gardens. that only exist in the imagination. Throughout two intensive days, immerse yourself in a multidisciplinary creative processusing tools such as painting, drawing and photography. No previous experience is required, only a desire to learn and experiment.

This workshop will not only enrich your understanding of art and ecology, but will also offer you a new perspective on how we can interact with the natural world. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in contemporary art, art history, or simply looking for an enriching and different experience. BIOGRAPHY: ALFONSO ALMENDROS

Almendros (Petrer, 1981) obtained a higher degree in photography at the València School of Art and Higher Education of Design and the International Master's Degree in Photography at the Efti school in Madrid thanks to the Roberto Villagraz Scholarship 2016. He holds a degree in Art History from the University of Valencia and Master's Degree in Teaching Complutense University.

His artistic work has received several awards such as the Prix Révélation SAIF award at the Voies Off 2019 in Arles, the V Galicia Contemporary Photography Award, the III Convocatoria OCEMX de Fotografía (Mexico), the Photographic Museum of Humanity 2014 Grant (Italy) or at the Grand Prix Fotofestiwal 2011 (Poland). In 2019 his book To name a mountain was a finalist for the Best Photography Book of the Year Award at PhotoEspaña 2019. His work has been exhibited internationally at festivals, meetings and art centers.

Since 2014 he has been developing a pedagogical work linked to his creation, and successfully teaches courses and workshops at the Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid, the Master PhotoEspaña, the IED Madrid, the Centro Cultural de España and the Cinemateca Nacional de Nicaragua or at the Department of Visual Arts of Brock University in St. Catharines (Canada).

 

WHAT DO WE OFFER IN OUR WORKSHOP?

Theoretical-practical workshop that invites us to creatively exploring the relationship between humans and natureIn particular, the connections of the "garden" with anthropology, religion, politics and art.

It is directed to to the general public interested in art history, nature, ecology and gardens.

 

WORKSHOP DETAILS

Duration:
7 hours (3 hours of theory, 3 hours of field work and 1 hour of presentation of work) divided into 2 working days.

Theoretical area.
Why do we make gardens? Duration: Three hours.
Friday, April 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

2. Field work area.
Creative exercises. Duration: Four hours.
Saturday, April 13 from 10.00 a.m. / 2.00 p.m.

Price:
Normal registration fee: 50 euros
Reduced registration fee (10% discount): 45 euros. University community, unemployed and large families.
