IES Basoko has been proclaimed champion of the X Debate Tournament in English for High School held in December -which every year organizes the San Cernin school in Civican- and which brings together students from public and private schools in the region of Navarra. This year's theme was "Is it worthwhile for teenagers to get involved in climate issues now?

The Science Museum and the Institute of Biodiversity and Environment BIOMA of the University of Navarra have collaborated in a training day prior to the tournament, where students have been able to ask questions about biodiversity and environment to three expert researchers from the Unit of Society and Environmental Culture of the BIOMA Institute: Jordi Puig, Ana Villarroya and Juan José Pons.

"I would like to highlight the high quality of the debates that took place. San Cernin's initiative not only fosters analysis and critical thinking, but also encourages discussion on issues of great relevance to the students' future," says Marie-Anne Reynell, Director of Development at the University of Navarra Science Museum.

IES Basoko beat IES Navarro Villoslada in the final and the award for best speaker went to Prince Williams from IES Julio Caro Baroja.
