The theme of the contest is "Nature in my environment."
The aim is to discover and appreciate the beauty of the natural world and its diversity, in its different forms and spaces. Photographs may show landscapes, flora, and fauna in natural, rural, or protected environments, as well as in urban environments, provided that they depict wildlife.
Images must show flora, fauna, or other natural elements. Photographs of gardens, landscaped parks, or spaces created or maintained for ornamental or landscaping purposes will not be accepted, nor will images of indoor plants, pets, domestic or farm animals, or those in which people appear.
Each image must be submitted with a title (maximum 6 words) and a brief description of between 50 and 80 words.

Participants
Three categories are established:
– Schoolchildren aged 8 to 12.
– Schoolchildren aged 13 to 17.
– Young people aged 18 to 23.
Any person of this age residing in Spain may participate, submitting unpublished works that have not been awarded prizes or are pending resolution in other competitions.
Participation in the contest implies declaring the original authorship of the works submitted.
The contest is open to amateur photographers. People with professional experience in photography should refrain from participating in order to promote equal opportunities among participants.

Deadlines and stages of the competition
The deadline for submitting entries is April 19, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Photographs will not be accepted after this deadline.
In the first phase, images will be sent in digital format and low resolution (800 × 600 px) via the registration form, along with the participant's personal details and information about each photograph submitted.
A maximum of 30 finalists will be selected. The organization will notify all participants of the selection on April 24, 2026, via the email address provided during registration.
The selected photographs must subsequently be sent in high resolution, following the technical instructions provided by the organization. The University of Navarra Science Museum will be responsible for printing the works for the exhibition. The format and size of the prints will be determined by the organization based on the exhibition design.
The finalist photographs will be displayed in a collective exhibition that will open on May 6, 2026, in the Science Building, at a ceremony to which all participants will be invited. The selected images may also be disseminated through the Science Museum's communication channels and social media.
* The jury's decision will be announced on May 29, 2026, at a public event to which all participants will be invited.

Photograph format
Each participant may submit a maximum of three photographs.
Images must be submitted without margins, frames, borders, or other elements that reduce their actual size. Watermarks will not be accepted. In the event of publication or exhibition, the authorship of the works will be duly acknowledged.
Digital retouching is permitted for the purpose of improving the original image, provided that it does not involve montages, compositions, or substantial alterations to the photographed scene.
Total or partial failure to comply with the requirements set forth in these rules shall be sufficient grounds for rejecting the works submitted.

Jury of the contest
The jury will be appointed by the University of Navarra Science Museum and will be composed of individuals involved in scientific research, cultural management, science communication, photography, and the arts in general.
